Chocolate Incrociato filled with Ricotta, Almonds and Chocolate Chips

The word ’incrociati’ means to cross, in fact, these pasta parcels are shaped by crossing two squares with the filling in between.  The end result is similar to a star shaped pocket.

This dish is our version of a pasta desert, a delicacy of chocolate pasta.  The filling is a blend of ricotta, almonds, chocolate shavings, sugar and cinnamon.  Easy to prepare and commonly served during the Carnival period, this desert can enhance any other special occassion including birthdays.

The delicate chocolate stars are easy to prepare, dip into boiling sugary water and drain well when ready.  Serve warm with sugar, cinnamon and chocolate chips.
